About Us

My name is Vickie-Lynn and I am the owner and creator of The Poured Collective. My husband Dan and I, along with our 3 dogs, live in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada. This area is one of the best wine regions in Canada and is a tourist destination for people from around the world.

I was a teacher for 35 years and have now retired. I loved my teaching career, especially getting to connect with all the amazing students over the years. During my retirement I am learning to relax and slow down. Having all the time in the world to read is a definite plus. Dan and I enjoy doing yoga and reformer Pilates each week. I don’t think we have felt better. We are living our best and most authentic life. Our “children” are all successfully adulting and we couldn’t be more proud of them.

Last year, I felt that I wanted to engage and express my creativity. They say to do what you love, and I have always enjoyed having numerous candles burning close by throughout the house. We started small and the learning curve was huge but exciting. This past Christmas, we participated in two Christmas Markets and the response was so rewarding. The process of hand-pouring candles is balancing and enriching, and, not to mention, our home smells amazing. This year we made the decision to open our e-store. So, here we go!

Scent is the first thing people notice when they enter your home. Scent is also the strongest tie to memory. Aroma therapy is shown to have a profound and positive effect on one’s mood. In these times, self-care, it could be argued, is more important than ever. As François Nars explained, “Fragrance makes us dream.” We have created series of fragrances that will appeal to the various facets of each person’s personality. I would like to think that our candles will provide comfort and peace in your homes.
